Even in the very niche parts, some fairly complex methods are used to make production sustainable and that's why we chose to work with Teemill, who build or own the factories where our products are made. Above is a great photo from the dye-house which has a closed loop water supply. These chaps have water quality, chemistry, mechanical and civil engineering post-graduate degrees among them, and work full time engineering systems that mean the water coming out of the dye-house is cleaner than the water going in. It's even clean enough to drink. This is a long way ahead of fashion factories pouring pollutants in rivers. Every product on our store is made with sustainability in mind, and there's a huge team behind the scenes from seed to shop working with us to bring you products made the right way. We hope you love them.

Sustainability is about knowing who made our products, what they're made from and where they go when they are worn out. That's traceability and it's one of the reasons we work together with Teemill to manufacture our products. It's not just that the supply chain is certified organic, it means that we can see where our products get printed. Teemill has partnered with Greenpeace and OEKO-TEX to be compliant with The Greenpeace Textile Procurement Standard. This means that there is no discharge of hazardous chemicals, resulting from the Detox campaign. Teemill is the first dedicated printer to implement Greenpeace’s Standard. Using renewable energy, organic material, and avoiding hazardous chemicals in the print and dye stage, which is verified by third party auditors. Teemill’s innovation by designing out waste, and using it as a resource to make new products, demonstrates what fashion detox looks like.

Our products are vegan-friendly. They are not tested on animals and do not contain any animal-derived content. Yet true environmentalism is about more than just what we don't do. At every stage of our supply chain, care is taken to make sure that nature thrives. It starts with the noise of the bugs, bees and birds that live in the fields where our pesticide-free organic cotton is grown. And it ends there too, because using natural materials - instead of plastic - means that one day that material will end up back in a natural process. Maybe it'll decompose into plant food, or a home for a woodlouse. That's nature's solution. It means no pollution.

By 2050, it's estimated that there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. Much of this is in microscopic form, shed when washing clothes. Because our products are made from organic cotton, no microplastics are released when you wash them at home. It's one way we can grow a better future with plants, not plastic. All our clothes are made from organic cotton, and they are GOTS certified.

The OL work with Teemill to produce our clothing through a fully circular supply chain.
